Planning a Kitchen or Bedroom in Huntingdon
Getting to you in Huntingdon
Huntingdon is about 20 miles from our Peterborough workshop, usually around 30 minutes down the A1(M) and A14. It's well within our regular area, and we also cover Godmanchester, Brampton and the surrounding villages with the same team.
The homes we see in Huntingdon
The town has period properties around the historic centre, plenty of post-war and later family homes, and significant new building nearby, such as Alconbury Weald. That spread means we see everything from narrow galley kitchens in older terraces to large open-plan kitchen-diners in new homes, each needing a different layout and storage plan.
What that means for your project
For new-build kitchens, the space is often generous but the walls and services are fixed, so planning around existing plumbing, sockets and extraction keeps costs down. In older homes we often relocate services to get a better layout. We'll explain the trade-offs at the survey so your quotation reflects the work you actually want.
Which of our services suit Huntingdon homes
In Huntingdon's post-war semis and terraces, the most common jobs are opening up a narrow galley kitchen into a better-planned layout and replacing freestanding bedroom furniture with fitted wardrobes that use the full height of the wall. New-build homes at Alconbury Weald and around the town often come with a basic developer kitchen, so we are regularly asked to replace it with a made-to-measure design, add a utility or boot room and fit a media wall in the living space. Home offices are in demand across Huntingdon, Godmanchester and Brampton for people splitting their week between home and the office. For older properties near the town centre, we build alcove units and scribed fitted furniture around original features.
