1. Order Acknowledgement & Acceptance
Once you have agreed the product specification and price with ABJ Kitchens and Bedrooms, you will receive a written Order Acknowledgement document detailing all items, specifications and costs.
You must carefully check all details are correct including but not limited to: product types, quantities, dimensions, colours, finishes, hardware and pricing. All cabinets, doors and bespoke items are made to order and cannot be returned, cancelled or modified once production has commenced.
Your order will only be confirmed and placed into production upon receipt of:
- Your signed Order Acknowledgement
- Acceptance of these Terms & Conditions (signature required)
- The required 50% deposit payment (see Section 2)
By signing the Order Acknowledgement and these Terms & Conditions you agree to be legally bound by all terms stated herein.
2. Payment Terms (Mandatory)
ALL CUSTOMERS: Select one of the payment methods/options upon order placement.
Option A — Direct Payment (Available to All Customers)
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value is required immediately upon order confirmation. Production will not commence until this deposit is received and cleared in our account.
Balance Payment:The remaining 50% balance MUST be paid by cleared funds either:
- On the day before scheduled delivery, OR
- On the day of delivery at the latest
Delivery or collection will NOT proceed without confirmation of cleared balance payment.
Payment Methods Accepted:- Bank Transfer (BACS) – preferred method
- Cleared Cheque (must clear minimum 5 working days before delivery)
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Cash
Bank details will be provided by the ABJ Sales Team on request.
Option B — Finance Terms (Available to All Customers)
Finance is offered via our partner (e.g. Ideal4Finance). Typical finance features:
- 0% APR for the first 12 months (interest-free period)
- Standard interest rates apply from month 13 onwards
- Finance is subject to status and credit approval
- Available to trade professionals and private individuals
- Complete a finance application form (available from info@abjkitchensandbedrooms.co.uk)
- Credit check and approval required before order confirmation
- Separate finance agreement must be signed
- 14-day cooling-off period applies for the finance agreement
A 50% deposit may still be required depending on approval. If finance is cancelled during the cooling-off period you must immediately pay the full order value by direct payment (Option A applies). If finance is declined, Option A terms apply.
Goods Under Finance: All goods remain the property of ABJ Kitchens and Bedrooms until the finance agreement is fully settled. Delivery will only proceed once finance is approved and contracts are signed.
Option C — Trade Account Facilities (Trade Customers Only)

- Credit terms (typically 30 days from invoice) available on approval
- Credit limits set according to creditworthiness
- Payments must be made by the invoice due date
- Late payment interest of 8% per annum above Bank of England base rate applies
- We may suspend account facilities for late payment
Late or Non-Payment Consequences
Critical: If the balance payment is not received by the required deadline:
- Delivery will be suspended until full payment is received
- Storage charges of £50 per day will be applied from the original delivery date
- After 7 days of non-payment, the order may be cancelled with forfeiture of the 50% deposit
- We reserve the right to pursue legal action for outstanding payments and associated costs
- Interest may be charged at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate on overdue amounts
Installation Payment Terms
If ABJ is engaged to install: full product payment (100%) must be cleared before installation commences. Installation fees may be split with an additional deposit if agreed in writing. No installation work will proceed with outstanding product payments.
3. Delivery Charges
Standard Delivery Charges:
- £70 — All deliveries within a 30-mile radius of PE1 2AZ
- £140 — All deliveries outside the 30-mile radius of PE1 2AZ
Delivery Requirements:
- Ensure delivery address can accommodate an 18-ton lorry or notify us of restricted access
- All deliveries must be attended by you or your authorised representative
- Inspect all products upon delivery and sign the delivery note
- Report damaged or incorrect items to info@abjkitchensandbedrooms.co.uk / 01733 686767 within 24 hours
Delivery Timing:
Take delivery at least one week before onward installation to allow inspection. Once production has started, delivery dates can only be changed if the order is paid in full. If delivery is delayed by you for more than 14 days after the agreed date, storage charges of £50 per day apply.
4. Availability & Lead Times
Most products are made to order. Allow a minimum of 4–6 weeks for delivery from order confirmation and deposit receipt; this may vary by product and manufacturer.
Do not make onward commitments to customers without confirming availability and lead times with us.
Lead times may vary throughout the year. We will provide an estimated delivery date upon order confirmation.
5. Retention of Title
All goods remain the legal property of ABJ Kitchens and Bedrooms until full payment (100%) has been received and cleared. Until such time:
- You do not have the right to sell, transfer or dispose of the goods
- We reserve the right to enter your premises to recover the goods
- You must store goods separately and in good condition
- Risk passes to you upon delivery, but ownership does not
6. Cancellations & Modifications
Cancellation Before Production: Notify us immediately in writing. A cancellation fee of 25% of the order value will apply, with the balance of your deposit refunded.
Cancellation After Production Starts: Once production has commenced, orders cannot be cancelled. You will be liable for the full order value. The 50% deposit is non-refundable and the remaining 50% balance will be due immediately.
Modifications: Changes can only be made before production commences and may incur additional charges. All modifications must be confirmed in writing and may affect delivery dates.
7. Returns & Replacements
Non-Returnable Items: The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances:
- All made-to-order cabinets
- All made-to-order doors
- Bespoke or custom-cut worktops
- Any items that have been worked on, cut, drilled or modified
- Any items removed from original packaging
Returnable Items: Stock items (appliances, accessories, handles, etc.) may be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging, with a Returns Authorization Number. A 25% restocking charge will apply. Items older than 30 days from invoice date cannot be returned.
Damaged or Faulty Items: Notify us within 72 hours of delivery with photographs. Do not work on or modify the item. We will arrange replacement following inspection and issue credit once the faulty item is returned and verified.
8. Inspection Requirements
You must inspect all products immediately upon delivery and check all items against the delivery note for correct quantities and specifications.
Inspect for any visible damage or defects. Do not work on, cut, drill or modify any items until thoroughly inspected.
Sign the delivery note only when satisfied, or note any discrepancies clearly. Claims for shortages, damage or incorrect items not reported within 24 hours cannot be accepted.
9. Liability & Warranties
Our liability is limited to replacement of faulty goods or refund of the purchase price. We are not liable for consequential losses, labour costs or installation costs arising from faulty products.
Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable. We do not accept liability for delays caused by manufacturers, suppliers or circumstances beyond our control.
10. Customer's Responsibility
You acknowledge you have checked all measurements, specifications and designs are correct and that products are suitable for your installation.
You confirm you have the necessary skills, qualifications and insurance to install products if not using our installation service, and will comply with Building Regulations and obtain any necessary consents.
11. Errors & Omissions
Every effort is made to ensure accuracy but pricing and product descriptions are subject to error. Prices on your Order Acknowledgement are definitive and will be invoiced accordingly.
We reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing before confirming your order.
12. Legal Enforcement
These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding contract between you and ABJ Kitchens and Bedrooms.
In the event of non-payment or breach we reserve the right to withhold delivery, recover goods under retention of title, pursue recovery through legal channels, and claim associated costs.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13. Data Protection & Privacy
We will contact you by phone, email and post regarding your order, designs and deliveries. Your data will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

14. General Provisions
We reserve the right to update or modify these terms. The version in effect at the time of your order will apply. Product designs, specifications and availability are subject to change without notice.
If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in full effect.
